This virtual training will focus on helping businesses understand the full import process, including customs procedures, duty obligations, compliance requirements and documentation.
Many businesses rely heavily on freight forwarders or customs brokers without fully understanding their legal responsibilities as the importer of record. This can lead to compliance risks, shipment delays and unnecessary costs. This session provides practical guidance to help you take control of your import operations and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
The training will walk you through the end-to-end import process, giving you the knowledge and confidence to manage imports effectively and avoid common pitfalls.

- Understanding the role and responsibilities of the importer of record
- The customs declaration process and key requirements
- Commodity codes and the basics of classification
- Managing import duties and VAT
- Using Postponed VAT Accounting (PVA)
- Understanding Customs Procedure Codes (CPCs)
- Managing freight forwarders and customs brokers effectively
- Import documentation requirements
- Avoiding common import compliance mistakes
